Salted Choc Crumble Biscuits

These biscuits are rich, crumbly and packed with chunky walnuts for the perfect bite. They come together easily with a few simple ingredients – ideal for when you're after something chocolatey aaand a little bit fancy. Plus a sprinkle of sea salt on top takes them to the next level!

Makes 10 biscuits

1/3 cup cacao or cocoa powder
½ cup oat flour
¼ cup plain flour (or a gluten free flour blend)
½ cup raw or brown sugar
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon maple syrup or rice malt syrup
2 tablespoons almond butter
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup walnuts, chopped into chunks

1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius conventional
2. Mix together the cacao, oat flour, other flour, sugar, baking soda and salt
3. In a small pot, melt together the vanilla extract, syrup, almond butter and olive oil
4. Stir the wet mixture to the dry mixture. When it’s almost all combined, add in the walnuts, then finishing mixing
5. Place large spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined baking tray. With wet fingers, press the biscuits so that they flatten ever so slightly. Sprinkle a tiny bit more salt on top
6. Bake for 12 - 14 minutes. Allow to cool. Enjoy!
